SUSTAINABILITY

It's not just about the best aroma and taste, but about assuming
the commitment to making difference!
In a world that is constantly changing and full of environmental challenges, Bicafé is committed daily to promoting good environmental awareness practices in terms of products, its relationship with customers, suppliers, employees and partners.

We are actively involved in reducing our environmental footprint, not only in the search for efficient recycling solutions, but mainly in the constant study of our products to reduce the consumption of materials and polluting energy necessary for their production and distribution.

In order to use forest resources responsibly, we pass 80% of our packaging to FSC (Forest Stewardship Council). A product with this seal means that natural resources have been respected and dignified social conditions have been provided for workers in the manufacturing process, since its origin.
At Bicafé, we are committed to reducing our environmental footprint and bringing sustainably produced coffee to our customers! Our factory is made up of more than 960 photovoltaic panels that allow us to be self-sufficient in electricity and have the capacity to supply 120% of our needs. There are more than 300 tons of CO2 emissions avoided and further proof of our ongoing commitment to a more sustainable planet!
Today, we produce our capsules with 100% clean energy and low-consumption equipment.
SUSTAINABLE PLASTICS PROJECT
In order to reduce the amount of waste that is sent to landfills and minimize the impact on the environment as much as possible, we embrace the Recicla + / Sustainable Plastics Project - Mobilizing Agency for Plastics. This project will allow the collection, forwarding, segregation of materials, treatment and use of used capsules to manufacture new capsules and/or other products. Together with partners, suppliers, municipal entities, recyclers, producers and distributors, the Project will be fundamental to environmental sustainability.
The Sustainable Plastics Project contemplates a collection system for the consumer, the recycling and recovery of all used materials and the creation of a new product resulting from waste, in order to contribute and achieve circularity in the production processes and the proposed goals for the circular economy. We will, in partnership with another entity, create capsule collection points across the country.

A coffee that tastes like nature

Discover an intense espresso, with an exclusive aromatic signature, rich in citrus notes and with a caramel finish. Bicafé BIO has PT-BIO-03 Non-EU Agriculture certification, as it is 100% produced from coffees from organic farming. Organic coffee certification promotes sustainable practices that have a positive impact on the agricultural ecosystem. But what is organic coffee? Organic or biological coffee is developed under the rules of organic production. This means that coffee must be grown with organic fertilizers and pest and disease control must be done through biological control. For coffee to be labeled organic, both production and processing need to be monitored by an accredited certifying agency.
